BOGOTA, OCTOBER 18, 2024 – Atlas Renewable Energy, a leading renewable energy company and expert in the development, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects in Latin America, trained 128 women from Tolima, Colombia, as part of its flagship program ‘We are part of the same energy’. The company, which recently announced the acquisition and financing of its Shangri-La solar project (201 MWp), continues to support local talent and labor inclusion in the regions where it operates.   Through this social program, which seeks to reduce the gender gap in the construction of renewable energy projects, Atlas trained women in technical skills such as solar panel installation, basic construction and masonry, and electrical networks, among other key topics.  The program was launched in 2019 to provide professional training to women and generate new job opportunities in the communities where the company has a presence, such as Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Chile. The initiative focuses on increasing female participation in the construction of solar projects from 2% to 15%. In some of its projects, Atlas has exceeded this goal, reaching up to 22% female participation. Women beneficiaries of the program can increase their employability both in Atlas projects and in other projects in their regions, and even undertake entrepreneurship as service providers.   “We are part of the same energy” is a fundamental opportunity for Tolima. It not only generates employment for women in the region but also boosts gender equity in an industry traditionally dominated by men. We are proud to see how this training opens new doors for them and contributes to the sustainable development of the department,” said Rubén Borja, Country Manager of Atlas Renewable Energy in Colombia.  With the Shangri-La solar project underway, Atlas Renewable Energy reaffirms its commitment to the energy transition in Latin America and Colombia. By empowering local communities, especially through the inclusion of women in the workforce, Atlas not only contributes to a sustainable future but also promotes economic growth in the region. As the project nears completion in 2025, it will exemplify the power of collaboration, innovation and social responsibility to build a cleaner, more equitable world.  About Atlas Renewable Energy  Atlas Renewable Energy is an international renewable energy generation company with an asset base of more than 8.4 GW, of which 2.5 GW are in advanced development stages ready to be contracted and about 3.6 GW are operational.
